[SFACC Interview] Jenny Sharaf on Art Night SF

Last week I sat down with artist and curator Jenny Sharaf to talk about artist in San Francisco and the sense of community that comes from public art projects. In Fall 2015, Jenny headed organizing Art Night SF, three nights of outdoor arts at UN Plaza at Civic Center.

In May 2015, Jenny organized another art pop-up, the Parking Lot Art Fair, where artists took one parking space to showcase their work and projects. In 2016, Jenny will continue organizing art projects for the public and will continuing Art Night with events spread throughout the year. For the rest of 2015 Jenny will be focusing on her own work with hopes of another mural soon.

"They asked if I had any concepts to bring art to UN Plaza. I thought how do I get everyone involved, let's just involve everyone. Galleries, museums, non-profits, and artists could be next to each other. And it's a great way to meet each other too."
